Our Hourglass coats have the flattering lines of their namesake, but impose no demands on their wearers.​
Elaborated to conjure the shape with none of the constrictions typical of the style, they are both elegant and comfortable.​
They are ideal for jazzing up (or covering up) the simplest of dresses, as well as for wearing over separates or throwing over a yoga kit.

Those of a more athletic frame should opt for the Biffin or Fedden. Those with fuller busts and or curvier shapes for the Vasey or Eardley.

Our Hourglass coats are designed to be worn open. You can add our closures to them, however we strongly recommend
that you attach them on receipt of your coat so that you can ensure they are situated at exactly the right point for your own shape.

about the biffin

The Biffin is one of the most shaped and tailored of our coats. It has neatly tailored shoulders and a structure that mirrors the traditional hourglass shape. Flattering for all sizes, this coat is designed with the athletic frame in mind. Full length sleeves are slitted at the wrist and have deep internal hems, allowing the wearer to fold-back the cuff elegantly. It has two hidden seam pockets and is designed to be worn low on the calf.
While designed to be worn open, the two front panels of the coat should be able to meet without either straining at the rear or overlapping at the front; the two front edges can be held together to keep the coat closed with any of our closures.

Flattering for all sizes, this coat is designed with the athletic frame in mind. Generous full length sleeves are slitted at the wrist and have deep internal hems to allow a fold-back cuff. It has two hidden seam pockets and is designed to be worn low on the calf.
