about the fedden

The Fedden is one of the most shaped and tailored of our coats. It has pleated shoulder headers and a structure that mirrors the traditional hourglass shape. Flattering for all sizes, this coat is designed with the broader, athletic frame in mind. Generous full length sleeves are slitted at the wrist and have deep internal hems to allow a fold-back cuff. It has two hidden seam pockets and is designed to be worn low on the calf.  When closed, the two front panels of the coat should be able to meet without either straining at the rear or overlapping at the front; they can be held together to keep the coat closed with any of our closures.

You can opt to have the Fedden taken in or let out at the shoulders, and nipped in or let out at the bust. It can also be cut to a longer or shorter length, and its sleeves lengthened or shortened. As alternatives to the pleated headers, you can also opt for subtle gathers or box pleats.
