The Skirted Hourglass Coat in Silk Matka

Waisted Summer Coat

The Downing Coat style made up in Silk Matka. Perfect for summer wear – ideal for weddings and other occasions.

Fabric

Silk Matka is a linen-like silk that is light, cool and elegant. The weave is linen-like, but Matka creases far less than linen. The coat is available to order in all our silk matka colours.

Style

The Downing is one of the most shaped and tailored of our coats. It has neatly tailored shoulders and a structure that mirrors the hourglass shape with a generous skirt.

Superbly flattering, this coat has full length sleeves. The sleeves are slitted at the wrist and have deep internal hems to allow a fold-back cuff. It has two hidden seam pockets and is designed to be worn low on the calf. 

When closed, the two front panels of the coat should be able to meet without either straining at the rear or overlapping at the front; they can be held together to keep the coat closed with any of our closures. This style can also be belted.

Hugely flattering this coat works equally well both open and closed.

Lined in pure silk. We line our Matkas in light coloured silks. You can either email us specifying your choice, or we will be in touch with our suggested recommendation.

This coat is available to order in all our silk matka colours. If it doesn't look like we offer what you are looking for, please get in touch and we will see if we can source you your ideal shade.

Shipment

We aim to deliver within three weeks of receiving your order. We ship on a Next Day basis using Signed For services. Should you need your coat more urgently, please drop us a line. We will always try our best!
