8 – The Downing Coat in Pink Tiger-Eye Tweed

The Downing in size 8 in a wonderfully elegant and unusual Limited Edition tweed with an eye-catching pink on grey pattern. 

This is a warmer-weight, finely woven tweed with a wonderful handle and sufficient natural hold to maintain the Skirted Hourglass shape without exaggeration.

Hugely versatile, this coat will take you to work, races, dinner, weddings and beyond.

The Style

The Downing is one of the most shaped and tailored of our coats. It has neatly tailored shoulders and a structure that mirrors the hourglass shape with a generous skirt.

Superbly flattering, this coat has full length sleeves are slitted at the wrist and have deep internal hems to allow a fold-back cuff. It has two hidden seam pockets and is designed to be worn low on the calf. 

When closed, the two front panels of the coat should be able to meet without either straining at the rear or overlapping at the front; they can be held together to keep the coat closed with any of our closures. This style can also be belted.

Hugely flattering this coat works equally well both open and closed.

Collar

This coat has a simple round neck as shown in the photographs.

Lined in Rosy Silk with a Steel Coloured Satin Trim.
