Fabric
A wonderfully warm and elegant bottle green wool bouclé. This is a springy wool from Linton Tweeds in Carlisle, a warmer-weight fabric with a wonderful handle and sufficient natural hold to gently maintain the A-Line body shape, the collar and the bell sleeves without exaggeration. An additional bonus – it is wonderfully creaseless!
Lining
The coat is lined in Jade silk with an Old Gold satin trim.
The Style
The Delany style has a gentle A-line body shape with a magnificent swing. It has two slanted pockets to the front and is designed to fall to mid-low calf length.
Neat box pleats sit at the shoulders atop elegant and playful, bracelet-length bell cuff sleeves.
Closures
The Delany is designed to be worn open. The two front panels should meet, but not overlap. Should you wish to add them, our metal and leather closures can be sewn inside the front coat facings to hold the coat invisibly closed. If you would like to add these to our order, please drop us a note.
Collars
The coat has a Mandarin collar.
Body Shape
Hugely wearable, this style is particularly flattering on the smaller-busted Column, Apple and Pear shapes. For those with curvier figures, we recommend the Brett coat can be ordered in the same fabric. Do get in touch if you are interested.
