Silk Matka A-Line Coat

Summer Silk Coat

Our A-Line Coat style has a gentle A-line body shape with a magnificent swing. It has two slanted pockets to the front and is designed to fall to mid-low calf length.

Neatly tailored shoulders sit atop bracelet length sleeves.

The Fabric

Silk Matka is a linen-like silk that is light, cool and elegant, perfect for summer wear. The Matka weave is linen-like, but has a smarter finish and has the huge benefit of creasing far less than linen. 

Cut & Body Shape

Hugely elegant, this style is flattering and easy to wear, taking you everywhere from the smartest of occasions to the school run. For the smaller-busted Column, Apple and Pear shapes we recommend The Carrington cut. For those with curvier figures, we recommend the Boyce cut. Please select your chosen cut from the menu.

Collars

The Coat has a simple round neck as shown in the photographs. Should you wish to order your coat with a collar, we can offer a Mandarin or Nehru collar. Please get in touch by email at the time of ordering.

Sleeves
 
This A-Line Summer Coat comes with shorter bracelet length sleeves as standard. You are welcome to order a bespoke length – to do so, please get in touch by email at the time of ordering.

Closures
 
The A-Line Coat style is designed to be worn open. The two front panels should meet, but not overlap. Should you wish to add them, our metal and leather closures can be sewn inside the front coat facings to hold the coat invisibly closed. If you would like to add these to our order, please drop us a note.

Co-ordinates
 
Skirts, dresses, tops and trousers can be ordered to go or co-ordinate with this coat. We strongly recommend ordering Matka fabric co-ordinates at the same time to avoid differences between dye batches.

100% Silk

Lining

Lined in pure silk. We line our Matkas in light coloured silks. You can either email us specifying your choice, or we will be in touch with our suggested recommendation.

Colours

This coat is also available to order in all our silk matka colours. If it doesn't look like we offer what you are looking for, please get in touch and we will see if we can source you your ideal shade.

Shipment

We aim to deliver within three weeks of receiving your order. We ship using a Next Day Signed For delivery service. Should you need your coat more urgently, please drop us a line. We will always try our best!

Photographs

The coat shown photographs is cut in the Carrington fit. The model wears the Carrington in Emerald Silk Matka (though this has photographed much darker than its true colour.
