Our Hourglass Style give the impression of a fitted coat. Carefully placed princess seams at front and rear create a wonderful hourglass shape, coming in and flaring out from the waist.

The style is designed to define an hourglass without demanding one of its wearer.

The bust is a determinant in this coat's fit, so we cut our pattern twice — once for a smaller bust, once for a fuller one. Small pockets hide in the front seams, fold back cuffs sit at the wrist and the coat can be ordered with a simple round neck or a neat Nehru collar.

The shape comes from the cut, so we keep our fabrics light. We offer the hourglass style in our softer, finer cloths — silk matka, our finest drapey brocades, unstructured bouclés and very fine flannels — nothing too stiff or bulky. Each is lined in your choice of coloured silk and satin trim.

Order in our standard sizes, 6 to 20, or have us adapt the measurements — length or sleeve length, bust, waist, hip — to your own. Our hourglass coats are cut, made and finished by hand in London.
