At EdNerat we believe our clothes should work for us – not us for them.
All of our coat shapes are designed to work for us, but arguably the hardest working of all them is our Hourglass shape.
Our Hourglass coats give their wearers hourglass shapes, rather than demanding them of their wearers.
They are relaxed, comfortable and hugely flattering – on all shapes.
We offer our Hourglass Coats in two cuts, each with two different header choices:
For the straighter frame and smaller bust:
The Biffin – Neatly Tailored Shoulder Headers
The Fedden – Box Pleat or Gathered Shoulder Headers
For the curvier frame and or fuller bust:
The Vasey – Neatly Tailored Shoulder Headers
The Eardley – Box Pleat or Gathered Shoulder Headers
All the styles are designed to be worn low on the calf, but can be lengthened or shortened according to taste. They can also be nipped in or let out at the waist and sleeves can be lengthened or shortened.
The Vasey and Eardley can also be let out at the bust and hips.
All the styles have full length sleeves (as shown in the middle photograph immediately above) and slits at the cuff.
This enables you to fold the cuffs back to bracelet length (as shown above on the right and left immediately above).
The coats can be ordered a simple round neck as shown in the above left picture, or a Nehru collar as shown the above picture to the right.
Elegant, comfortable and versatile, these coats are perfect for throwing over the simplest of dresses to make a stunning outfit – fitting both for work and for weddings.
.... and they also work wonders over trousers.
We have conceived the hourglass for wearing open, on the basis that most of us spend most of the time wearing our coats open. When the coat fits properly, the two front edges should meet in the middle. You (or we) can add hidden closures to hold the coat closed.
Simple hooks and eyes would do the job, but we prefer something a little more solid and can supply our brass closures either fitted, or unfitted.
